Hokkaido, Japan’s sparsely populated northern island, is often called a rider’s paradise by Japanese motorcyclists. It is the country’s most nature-rich region, bursting with colorful flowers, endless bright-green fields, and the gentle charm of quiet countryside farms. Softly rounded mountains with flowing curves lead down to a deep-blue sea, with coastal roads that seem to run on forever—offering the very best of both worlds for lovers of mountains and ocean. Immaculate scenic roads, expansive national parks, abundant wildlife, soothing hot springs, and food widely regarded as the most delicious in Japan all await you here.

Itinerary:

Day1 Briefing and Welcome Party

On the day before our departure, our tour guides will hold a full briefing, to explain about your tour in order to let you enjoy your tour in here Japan in with confidence and fun. They will explain about Japan’s riding rules, differences unique to Japan, the national culture, and of course your tour schedule in detail.

Day2 Store → Nukabira → Sounkyo

It’s time to get on the bikes and start riding! After a gentle warm-up on the easy-to-ride roads aiming for Karikachi Pass (known as one of the “New Eight Views of Japan” from the 1930s) you can get a panoramic view of the Tokachi Plain and feel the vastness of Hokkaido right from the start. After having lunch and driving along the mountain pass, we will stop at Lake Nukabira, an artificial lake surrounded by virgin forests. This place is famous for its “disappearing stone bridge”, due to the water level changing greatly depending on the season; when the water level is high in summer it is almost fully submerged in the lake. The scenery you see varies depending on the climate and amount of snowmelt that year, so if you can see this beautiful arch bridge, you’ll be very lucky. After your first day, enjoy a relaxing night’s sleep at a hotel in the mountains.

Day3 Sounkyo → Akan

This day begins with a scenic ropeway ride up into the Sounkyo mountains, followed by a refreshing hike through the breathtaking landscapes of Daisetsuzan National Park. After a well-earned break and a hearty lunch, we’ll hop back on our motorcycles and cruise toward Ashoro in Akan-Mashu National Park. From there, we continue eastward to our final stop of the day—majestic Lake Akan, one of Japan’s most celebrated lakes. Here, we’ll unwind in style at a luxurious hot spring resort and savor an exceptional dinner.

Day4 Akan → Betsukaicho → Akan

This day will feel like a true road adventure, taking us around the opposite side of Lake Akan. We’ll cruise along stunning roads all the way to the Tsurui-Ito Sanctuary, a wildlife reserve created to protect the region’s native animals and birdlife. Our journey continues to the Sarubo Observation Deck, offering one of the finest panoramic views over Lake Toro. We’ll then head to the nationally acclaimed Akkeshi Bay, where we can enjoy fresh, flavorful oysters while soaking in the coastal scenery. To finish the day, we return to Lake Akan and unwind with a well-deserved soak in the hot springs.

Day5 Akan → Lake Mashu → Notsuke Penninsula → Shiretoko

On this day, we journey farther east toward the sea. Our first stop is Lake Kussharo, known for its natural hot springs and said to have inspired a setting in the globally popular anime film Your Name. If you dig into the sandy lakeshore, warm spring water bubbles up, allowing you to create your very own natural sand foot bath.

After riding a bit farther and passing the striking, deep-blue Lake Mashu, the scenery opens into long, sweeping straight roads. Following lunch, we’ll head to the far end of the Notsuke Peninsula, which stretches into the Sea of Okhotsk between the Shiretoko and Nemuro Peninsulas. Here you can experience the mysterious atmosphere of Todowara, a landscape that truly feels like the edge of the world.

We’ll finish the day by watching the sunset over Shiretoko and the Sea of Okhotsk—an unforgettable ending to this eastern adventure.

Day6 Shiretoko → Road to Heaven → Biei

On this day, we head back inland. Our first stop is the famous “Road to Heaven” viewpoint, a beloved destination for Japanese riders. From here, the perfectly straight road seems to stretch endlessly into the sky, creating a surreal scene—as if the path ahead might lead directly to heaven. It’s the ideal place to capture amazing photos with your bike set against this unforgettable backdrop.After taking in the view, we continue on to the Drift Ice Museum, which showcases drift ice from the Sea of Okhotsk. Inside the Drift Ice Experience Terrace, you can step into a -15°C world and even touch real drift ice. Don’t miss the museum’s specialty: floe-ice ice cream made with Sea of Okhotsk salt—an immersive treat that lets you experience the region with all five senses.Following lunch, we’ll set off on a scenic 200 km ride to Biei, where we’ll spend our final night and reflect on the incredible memories made throughout this motorcycle journey.

Overnight in Furano

 

Day7 Biei → Furano → Yubari → Store

On the last day, after a relaxing final breakfast together, we will drive to Furano, which is nationally famous for its lavender fields and colorful flower fields. Although Furano is also being developed as a tourist destination, where everyone can enjoy both gourmet food and rich nature sightseeing. Then we will burn some kilometers on the road all the way to Sandan Waterfalls, a triple-tiered set of beautiful falls creating an astonishing landscape. We will then move to Yubari, a city famous for the production of delicious red Japanese melon.
